Note the use of the three cementitious materials. On a pound-for-pound basis,
Class F fly ash will typically generate about 50% as much heat as portland
cement. Silica fume will generate about the same amount of heat as portland
cement, but it has significantly better early age strength characteristics than fly
ash.
