During cold weather placements, the concrete was not meeting the early strength
requirements to allow for post tensioning. Changing to a different brand of
portland cement with different strength development characteristics solved the
problem.
Although a higher slump was allowed, the contractor determine that the slump
range shown provided the best finishing characteristics for the concrete.
