A key aspect of producing silica-fume concrete is to ensure that the
concrete is thoroughly mixed. Remember, a relative small amount of silica
fume (say 50 lb (23 kg)) is being added to a cubic yard or cubic meter of
concrete. It is essential that the silica fume be distributed uniformly
through the entire volume of concrete.
