The Silica Fume Association has prepared a table with starting mixtures for a variety of applications. This table provides recommended cementitious materials contents and water-cementitious materials ratios. This information will be enough to get you started when proportioning concrete for a specific application.

The table may be downloaded in Microsoft Excel format by Clicking Here, or you may view the tables online by clicking on the links below:

Recommended Starting Silica-Fume
Concrete Mixture Proportions for Various Applications

High-strength concrete Key Tower, Cleveland English Metric
High-strength concrete Scotia Plaza, Toronto English Metric
Bridge deck, with fly ash New York State DOT HP Mix English Metric
Bridge deck, without fly ash, high cementitious content (Old Ohio DOT Spec) English Metric
Wet shotcrete repair English Metric
Temperature controlled concrete, Hanford Storage Facility English Metric
High performance bridge girders, Colorado DOT English Metric
Parking structure, Milwaukee Airport English Metric
Test High-Strength Mix English Metric

REMINDER: The mixture proportions and concrete properties achieved that are shown in this table are to be used to develop concrete mixtures using your project materials. The results that you achieve may or may not be the same as those shown in the table. Once you have made and tested concrete mixtures using these starting proportions, it will be necessary to adjust the mixtures to achieve the results required for your project.
