Findings from a recently published NCHRP study. The authors of this study
attribute these conclusions to their findings that silica-fume concrete is
more sensitive to early age curing than other concretes. Additionally, they
found that early shrinkage of silica-fume concrete is very sensitive to
changes in the water- cementitious materials ratio and that silica fume has
little effect on the long-term (ultimate) shrinkage of concrete.
